Apple Fritters
Completely Irresistible. I'd suggest making a double batch. So full of apples... A light icing sugar glaze with a hint of maple syrup.
Thank me later ;) Your neighbours might appreciate a treat too! For apples, really any apple will do since they aren't cooking for long, but I always like a good Mutsu, or a Granny Smith if you're looking to be a little more exotic.

Y: Approx. 4 fritters
142g All-Purpose Flour
5g Baking Powder
3g Salt
30g Sugar
123g Milk
190g Apples, diced
4g Cinnamon
1 Egg
Oil for Frying
Glaze
279g Icing Sugar
44g Maple Syrup
71g Milk
Whisk everything together until smooth.
Combine all of the dry ingredients for the fritters in a bowl. Add the apples and toss to coat. Combine the milk and egg, and stir together with the dry until everything is hydrated and there are no pockets of flour. Scoop big spoonfuls of the batter and carefully drop them into your oil. Fry for about 5 minutes per piece, making sure they are dark golden, and fully cooked in the middle. You can always poke a hole in your first one to see if it's fully cooked inside so that you've got a better idea of how long they'll all take. Let drain on some paper towel before dipping in the glaze.
**For Frying** You can use a little deep fryer on the deck outside, or a pot of oil on your stove with a thermometer. A deep fryer is much easier to control the temperature of, and a little bit safer, but either will work. The oil should be at 350-375F. If going with the pot method on your stove, please make sure that the oil only fills half of your pot to keep the frying experience a safe experience.
